Annie

My name is Annie and my husband John has moved us to the south.  He claims it is because the fresh, warm, sweet air is better for my poor health and while I know that my husband does love me and have my health in mind, I believe him to have some more selfish reasons for doing so.  The goods down here are cheap and so is the land and labor and all in all his is a man that is about his business.  I cant blame him for wanting to make it easier to provide.  I guess it couldn’t hurt to give it a try.  The colored folk down here have such interesting stories to tell.  The south is our new home now and it is going to take some getting used to.
