While I do love my husband he can be so judgmental at times.  We are no better or worse than anyone else.  Uncle Julius may have some wild tales to tell but he has most certainly done more help than harm for us in the time we have known him in my opinion.  His grandson, Tom, has taken up working for John and I do believe John is being very hard on the boy.  I mean, these colored folk were just recently in chains.  Life outside of chains takes some adjustment.  He may not be a perfect worker but everyone deserves a fair try.  Room to grow.  If he could just take him under his wing I am sure he could be of good use to the business my husband is trying to conduct and be the worker he requires.
