I’m Lucia and around here people know me as something of a conjure woman. Conjuring been in my family line as old as time and I can work a goopher so strong that it’ll make a white man forget he free and a slave forget he a slave. Whenever there’s a trouble people come to me to sort the mess out and both slave and free have to humble themselves.
