Holding onto Practices

Reflecting on Annie’s response, I realize she has grown a lot during this trip down South. She seems to be more considerate of others and open to learning new things. She has been very interested in learning about different lifestyles. Annie has shown more appreciation for Julius and his cultural tales than I have. I wonder if it is what she needed or if it will cause her greater stress further down the line. She seems to be very happy, but she also seems to be incredibly distracted lately. I wonder if this is bettering her health and/or worsening mine. Julius seems to be very helpful and ready to intervene immediately. He seems to still maintain his obedient, accessible nature from the plantation. I think it suits him. It is a part of him because that system still lingers in him and it is inevitable to ever fully separate the two. Julius is a great example of that attachment. Annie’s relationship with Julius, in her previous response, further proves the connection between those who lack power and those who are in power. It is evident their union benefits both.
